You want to do that for a very important reason: once you successfully clear a Challenge mission with a 3-star ranking, you can "auto win" it on subsequent attempts. Tackle the toughest Challenge missions you can (available once your Player Level reaches 8), even if you can only just barely eke out victory. For instance, you can start out by clearing Elektra and Crossbones events to obtain those characters, who will allow you to fare better in the battles to follow. They often reward you with new characters who could become tomorrow's strongest allies. If your roster feels a bit lean, pay attention to events. Keep in mind that your growth is capped by your Player Level, so if you find you suddenly can't get your characters to bulk up any further, try progressing through more of the campaign so your level grows and new options become available. Once you have all available equipment in place for a character at one tier, you can upgrade him or her to the next tear and keep on growing. You may have a lot of characters in your pool, so focus your energy on the ones you generally find most useful so you can keep building them up as you progress.
